Here’s one of the most affordable collagen hotpot sets we’ve come across, courtesy of Amazing Hokkaido. The casual Japanese restaurant in Robertson Quay specialises in dishes cooked with produce from Hokkaido. And its new Collagen Beauty Hotpot costs only $16.90.

A modest but wholesome solo set consisting of tori paitan dashi — chicken broth made with green onion, ginger, garlic, kombu (kelp), and collagen extracted from the bird’s bone marrow, wings and cartilage. It comes with a single serving of five ingredients: sliced beef, chicken, tofu, vegetables and mushroom.

Available indefinitely.

If you need something more substantial, splash out on the $50 hotpot set for one — you get a flask of sake (280ml), your choice of soup like original seafood salt, salted prawn, shrimp bisque and spicy miso, and a total of eight ingredients to dunk in your broth. They include more seafood like sliced salmon, yellowtail and squid.
