Don Don Donki Opening Another Outlet In The West, At Jem Mall
It’s just minutes away from the JCube branch.
The West side is suddenly becoming an exciting foodie Mecca, what with Taiwanese fried chicken joint Monga there and Don Don Donki’s upcoming outlet at JCube mall in Jurong East opening on November 29. Now, it seems the wildly popular Japanese discount chain is setting up yet another outlet in Jurong — at Jem mall. We’d seen a photo of a hoarded up section of the mall floating around cyberspace, printed with these words: “Let’s Get Together Soon!” and a reminder to download Don Don Donki’s app.
Jem is a mere five minute walk away from JCube — both malls are near Jurong East MRT station. We reached out to Don Don Donki’s PR reps, but they declined to share any information. While we couldn’t get any confirmation on the supposed Jem store’s opening, they did not shut down our questions but simply said: “information will be released by end December or early January” once their press release is ready.

However, we did a bit more sleuthing and called Jem’s concierge counter. Bingo! According to a Jem staff member, “Don Don Donki will open early next year” and “will be taking over Marks & Spencer’s shop space on level two”. This would mean that Donki would be located next to Uniqlo and will be easily accessible from Jurong East MRT’s exit C.
Our question: why open another Donki in Jem, mere minutes away from JCube’s new Donki branch? Perhaps the Jem outlet is going to boast a totally different concept. This would be Donki’s 7th outlet in Singapore (with a smaller eighth branch, sorta, at Changi Airport). Watch this space for more updates.
