KFC Launches Decadent Taco With Fried Chicken As Its 'Shell', Called Kentaco
Does this count as keto-friendly?
KFC is no stranger to transforming foods to include its signature chicken, such as the Chizza, a pizza with a KFC chicken base instead of a doughy crust. On 3 February, KFC Singapore hinted at a new creation with a teaser photo on its Facebook page of a taco shell with the caption: “Think this is the usual chicken taco? Think again.” Just yesterday (Feb 4), it announced that it would be launching the Kentaco, a taco that switches out the usual tortilla shell with a fried chicken fillet for an all-chicken, no shell experience. Fierce.
The Kentaco uses its signature crispy fried chicken as its ‘tortilla shell’, with the chicken fillet slit open and deep-fried to form a pocket. The meaty ‘shell’ is then stuffed with iceberg lettuce, diced tomatoes and a mix of shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese. Finally, it’s drizzled with a cheese sauce made with cheddar, romanano and emmental. Watch this space for our taste test soon.
