KFC’s New Mac ‘N Cheese Zingerito Burrito Taste Test: Nice Or Not?
Fried chicken + mac & cheese + turkey bacon + tortilla.
Back in 2019, KFC introduced a Mac ‘N Cheese Zinger burger. If you think the classic Zinger — which has fried chicken, lettuce and mayo layered between lettuce buns — is calorific, the mac & cheese version one ups it by swapping the buns with two fried mac & cheese patties.
For 2021, the fast food chain has launched a new limited-edition offering called the Mac ‘N Cheese Zingerito on March 10. And instead of a burger, it's now a burrito.
It comes with a classic Zinger patty, turkey bacon and of course macaroni and cheese, all wrapped up in toasted tortilla. The Zingerito is available a la carte for $5.90, or as a meal from $7.95.
We try it and tell you if it's nice (or not).
Our stuffed Zingerito is practically bursting with ingredients. Think of it as a bunch of comfort foods (fried chicken, mac & cheese, bacon) all rolled into a wrap.
The Zinger patty itself is tender and spicy, though the creaminess of the mac & cheese tames the spice. It's a lot for us to take in, so much so that we can't really taste the soft, salty turkey bacon unless we pay close attention. Still, pretty yummy.
It's very filling, and we find ourselves struggling to finish our mashed potato and fries sides after demolishing the Zingerito. #Firstworldproblem, we suppose.
Not bad! The combination feels absolutely sinful but it’s tasty and worth the calorie splurge. The cheese gets pretty jelak after a while, but we suppose those who really love mac & cheese wouldn't have an issue with that.
