Circuit Breaker: Koi To Sell Its Bubble Tea Via Online Restaurant Grain From Apr 28
You have so many bubble tea choices for circuit breaker now.
Bubble tea shops are currently classified as a non-essential business during circuit breaker, but it's an essential in many Singaporeans' hearts. While standalone BBT outlets are temporarily not allowed to operate, BBT brands have found ways to continue catering to the high demand while adhering to safe distancing rules. Popular players like Gong Cha, Tiger Sugar, Liho, R&B Tea and Chicha Sanchen have all started offering their drinks for delivery by partnering eateries and delivery aggregators such as GrabFood, Foodpanda and Deliveroo.
The only big brand conspicuously missing from the lineup is Koi Thé, with netizens begging the company on social media to make their BBT available on delivery platforms. And it looks like the Avengers have assembled, 'cos Koi heard their calls and is working on an upcoming delivery sale system.
Koi released a teaser on Facebook today (April 26) to hint at its delivery partner. And from the logo, it's obviously online restaurant Grain, which offers meal plans plus a la carte grain bowls and pastas.
UPDATE (APR 27): Grain has officially announced its partnership with Koi to offer BBT for island-wide delivery, 11am-9pm daily, via GrabFood from April 28, and on Grain's website and app (starting from April 28 for the East and May 5 for the West).
How it works: Grain has installed a bubble tea machine in its central kitchen to churn out drinks, and customers can either order Koi's BBT with Grain's food, or a la carte BBT (for which a surcharge of $2 applies). Every order is subjected to Grain's $10 minimum order and a $4 delivery fee.
