Since March 22, 2021, Krispy Kreme outlets in the US has been offering a free doughnut to anyone who flashes their Covid-19 vaccination card.

Each vaccinated customer can receive up to one free plain glazed doughnut a day, till the end of 2021.

According to its press release, Krispy Kreme is giving out the sweet treats to encourage everyone to take the vaccine jab. “We all want to get Covid-19 behind us as fast as possible, and we want to support everyone doing their part to make the country safe by getting vaccinated as soon as the vaccine is available to them,” says Krispy Kreme's chief marketing officer Dave Skena.

    When we asked Krispy Kreme's Singapore PR rep if the outlets here will also give out free doughnuts, we were given this brief answer: Unfortunately, it's only valid in the US!

    While freebies shouldn't determine whether you get vaccinated, it will at least help to take the edge off the jab. Perhaps local brands can start offering free bubble tea, curry puffs or ice cream for vaccinated folks? Your move next, Old Chang Kee.
