Quiz of the week

How well do you know the news? Test your knowledge.

Two juggernauts in the snack world have come together to bring you one of the most decadent hybrid treats we've seen in recent times. Say hello to the Kit Kat chocolate wafer bar-topped Krispy Kreme doughnut, simply coined the Kit Kat Doughnut, available till 31 July. The munchkins (there are three on offer) aren't just decorated with the famous choc wafer sticks — even the doughnut glaze and filling are inspired by flavours found in Kit Kat. We sample some to see if they're worth the calories.

1 of 4 Kit Kat Deluxe, $3.50

Stylish-looking confection. The doughnut is glazed with white chocolate and pumped with hazelnut crème filling. Perched on top is a classic Kit Kat finger. The stuffing has a faint nuttiness and the Kit Kat bar adds a nice crunch to the soft doughnut. Not bad.

2 of 4 Matcha Magic, $3.50

Though the matcha glaze on the doughnut is a little light and kinda overpowered by the darker chocolate drizzle, the Kit Kat stick on top has a more robust green tea flavour, which helps perk things up. We like that this is not as sweet as the other offerings.

  • 3 of 4 Triple Chocolate, $3.50

This one has a chocolate glaze dotted with small pebbles of chocolate Kit Kat bites, and it houses loads of chocolate custard cream filling. It’s all a bit too much and becomes quite jelak after a few bites.

  • 4 of 4 Verdict

Fun to try once if you’re a Kit Kat fiend — and they do look pretty. But we’d probably stick to eating a classic Krispy Kreme doughnut and a Kit Kat bar separately.

The limited-edition Kit Kat doughnuts are available at all 11 Krispy Kreme outlets until 31 July. They can also be ordered via Deliveroo, GrabFood, Foodpanda & Tabsquare. http://krispykreme.sg.
