Quiz of the week

How well do you know the news? Test your knowledge.

Love the rolls at Luke’s Lobster, but not so much jostling with the crowds at their outlets at Shaw House and Jewel Changi Airport, or paying for food delivery fees? Well, the hip seafood shack has launched convenient at-home kits that you can whip up anytime, as long as you have a microwave oven and stove.

The four boxed options imported from Luke’s HQ in America include flash-frozen lobster claw meat that you only need to reheat and pop into toasted rolls for your own DIY feast. They’re available only at FairPrice Finest supermarkets for now.

Here’s a look at the offerings.

1 of 4 Lobster Meat with Seasoning, $42 for 227g (makes two rolls)

Steamed, deshelled, seasoned with thyme, oregano, and flash-frozen Maine lobster claw and knuckle meat portioned into two packets that we’re told will fill two rolls. Simply defrost in the fridge for about 24 hours and stuff into a bread roll, or briefly reheat for a warm version. Don’t forget to drizzle some melted butter and add a squirt of lemon juice. Luke’s PR rep confirms that each packet contains the same amount and type of lobster flesh found in their restaurant’s signature lobster roll ($25.50 for dine-in). So you save a few bucks if you make two of these rolls at home ($21 per roll, sans the cost of bread).

2 of 4 Lobster Tail with Seasoning, $36 for two pcs

Each semi-shelled steamed lobster tail (85g) is sprinkled with a lemon-garlic marinade then flash-frozen for freshness. Have it on its own with a side salad, or as part of a surf-and-turf plate. This is a retail exclusive and only sold at FairPrice Finest.

  • 3 of 4 Lobster Mac & Cheese, $31; feeds one to two pax

Another retail exclusive. Macaroni tossed in a blend of mascarpone and cheddar cheese, studded with about 454g of lobster knuckle and claw meat. It comes with a sachet of garlic-herb breadcrumbs to crown it all with before heating it up in the oven to brown.

  • 4 of 4 Lobster Bisque, $17; feeds one to two pax

An indulgent soup with lobster chunks and cream. Just pop into a microwave oven and slurp away.

Available at all FairPrice Finest islandwide except Funan Mall, 111 Somerset & Changi City Point. More info here: https://lukeslobster.sg
