Quiz of the week

How well do you know the news? Test your knowledge.

Last week on June 19, Singapore’s F&B outlets welcomed dine-in customers again for Phase 2. But Marina Bay Sands’ signature and celeb chef restaurants had opted to reopen at a later date — June 27, to be precise. Its shopping mall remains open for now, but only for its Sand Rewards members.

1 of 8 Opening in staggered phases

The eateries will not be making a comeback all at one go, though. MBS is also opening its restaurants in phases, starting with these famous five on June 27: Black Tap, Bread Street Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay, Cut by Wolfgang Puck, Mott 32 and Yardbird Southern Table & Bar. Meanwhile, MBS’ other tenanted, casual F&B outlets are already open within the mall, like Din Tai Fung, Canton Paradise and Toast Box (Ippudo’s express ramen joint will open on June 24).

According to a press release, other restaurants like Cé La Vi, db Bistro & Oyster Bar, Lavo Italian Restaurant & Rooftop Bar and Spago by Wolfgang Puck will “progressively reopen in July”.

2 of 8 New ‘Gourmet Takeaway platform’

To cater to new demand for takeaway food, the integrated resort is also launching a Gourmet Takeaway platform from July 4 for its restaurants. It will start by offering over 120 dishes and beverages from the five restaurants that are reopening this week, and will eventually have over 260 takeaway-friendly items from its dozen celeb chef and signature eateries, some exclusive to the platform. While prices are still based on the restaurants’ dine-in a la carte menus, you won’t have to pay service charge for the tapow-ed food.

There’s no delivery option available, but you can order from several restaurants and collect your food at one go via drive-through, or a “one-stop pick-up counter” at the entrance of Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

Read on below for some stuff you can tapow:

3 of 8 Cut by Wolfgang Puck

Previously, you couldn't tapow anything at Wolfgang Puck’s swish steakhouse. But times have changed, and it will be launching for the first time an “abridged version” of its luxe menu for takeaway. Like its 21-day aged, corn-fed USDA Prime Steak in various cuts (from $80+) grilled over coals and apple wood, and marbled Snake River Farms American Wagyu (from $160+ for various cuts). Sides like Maryland Blue Crab Cake ($38+) are also available, along with 500ml bottles of Cut’s cocktails such as barrel-aged Bespoke Negroni (S$90+).

Available from July 4, 5:30pm-8pm daily. Order by emailing cut.takeaway [at] marinabaysands.com (cut[dot]takeaway[at]marinabaysands[dot]com) at least four hours before collection.

A la carte grub like Yardbird Chicken Sandwich (S$22+) and The Great American Burger (S$29+) are also available.

  • 8 of 8 Coming soon

MBS has also confirmed that these restaurants, which are reopening in July, will offer takeaway service at a later date. Spago by Wolfgang Puck will be serving an American Wagyu Flat Iron Steak (S$48+) with wok-tossed veggies and steamed rice, db Bistro & Oyster Bar a Maine Lobster Roll (S$42+), and Adrift by David Myers dishes like Lala Clams with bacon dashi, chili & celery (S$32+).
