Quiz of the week

How well do you know the news? Test your knowledge.

The weather has been scorching of late, and McDonald’s is here to help us cool down with their new range of Bandung-flavoured ice cream desserts, which is launching on June 27.

The fast food giant’s soft serve is infused with rose syrup and condensed milk, and the dessert range includes their signature Soft Serve Cone, Twist Cone and chocolate-dipped Choco Cone, as well as a Sundae and McFlurry.

The desserts are also a very pretty, Instagrammable pink, so get ready for them to blow up on Instagram. Check ’em out below:

1 of 8 Bandung Soft Serve Cone, from $1
2 of 8 Bandung Twist Cone, from $1
3 of 8 Bandung Sundae, from $2
4 of 8 Bandung McFlurry, from $3

But wait, there’s more!

For their latest drop, McDonald’s is also launching a new McSpicy Deluxe Burger and a McMuffin Stack.

5 of 8 McSpicy Deluxe Burger, from $5.90 a la carte

This is your McSpicy burger with extra frills. According to McDonald’s, the burger is “a combination of your favourite McSpicy patty topped with tasty white cheddar cheese, a slice of extra juicy tomato, and an extra kick of tomato jalapeno relish – all tucked between a soft cornmeal dusted bun”. It’s also available as an Extra Value Meal (from $8) with fries and a drink. Whoa.

  • 6 of 8 McMuffin Stack, from $5.30 a la carte

If the McMuffin is too petite for your voracious appetite at breakfast, there’s the new McMuffin Stack to fill your tummy good and proper. It boasts “two sausage patties, crispy chicken bacon strips, egg done sunny-side up and melted cheddar cheese” wedged between toasted wholegrain muffins. You can get it as a Breakfast Extra Value Meal (from $6.50) which comes with a hashbrown or corn cup, and your choice of coffee or tea.

  • 7 of 8 The Creamy Herb Chicken Pie is back

If you missed out on trying the savoury chicken pie that McDonald’s launched last October, good news: it’s backkk. The flaky pie crust is stuffed with a creamy mix of diced chicken, carrots, potatoes, peas and mushrooms. It’s priced from $1 each. Check out our review of it here.

  • 8 of 8 The Kueh Salat Cake is back too

First launched in July 2017, the Kueh Salat Cake (from $5.20) has been making a comeback on McDonald’s menu around National Day every year since. It’s probably going to become an annual affair, like National Day Parade itself.

McDonald’s Bandung dessert range is available from June 27 at all dessert kiosks islandwide. The McSpicy Deluxe, McMuffin Stack and Creamy Herb Chicken Pie are available from June 27 at all outlets islandwide, and via McDelivery and GrabFood. The Kueh Salat Cake is available at all McCafe outlets. While stocks last.
