These Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice Pretz Sticks Can Be Yours For $1.60
First Jumbo chilli crab Pretz, now, Hainanese chicken rice sticks.
This isn’t the first time a Singaporean eatery has collaborated with Japanese snack brand Glico to produce Pretz biscuit sticks infused with local flavours. Just last year, Jumbo Seafood launched a limited-edition chilli crab-flavoured Pretz sticks. Now, you can get Hainanese chicken rice-flavoured Pretz made in collaboration with homegrown eatery Wee Nam Kee Chicken Rice. It’s a limited-ed offering created for this year’s Singapore Food Festival, which runs August 21-23 and 28-30 (visit www.singaporefoodfestival.sg).
Each 31g packet of Hainanese Chicken Rice Pretz costs $1.60 and feeds one person. The biscuit sticks are made to “capture the authentic taste and fragrance” of the iconic Singaporean dish and is supposed to taste of poached chicken, rice and even the signature chilli sauce. We haven’t gotten a chance to try some yet, so the jury’s still out on that.
The Hainanese Chicken Rice Pretz is available from 5 Aug at major supermarkets and Wee Nam Kee outlets in Changi City Point, SingPost Centre, Northpoint City, Jurong Point, Marina Square and United Square. While stocks last.
