Tiger Sugar Launching Hershey’s Chocolate Brown Sugar Boba Milk On National Day
Forget counting calories.
Here’s one more reason to indulge in our national pastime of guzzling on bubble tea: to celebrate the upcoming National Day, Taiwanese brown sugar bubble tea chain Tiger Sugar is introducing a Hershey’s milk chocolate brown sugar boba milk at its Singapore outlets for the first time.
The new drink is basically a choc version of Tiger Sugar’s crazy popular Brown Sugar Boba Milk. Instead of the usual caramelised brown sugar syrup, the brand has concocted a special ‘Black Sugar Chocolate’ sauce, which combines brown sugar and Hershey’s milk chocolate sauce.
The blend is then added to the usual Meiji 4.3 Deluxe fresh milk that Tiger Sugar uses to create their own chocolate milk, while the accompanying chewy tapioca pearls are also cooked with Black Sugar Chocolate sauce for extra flavour. The drink is then topped with a mountain of US-imported ‘snow cream’ (a less sweet version of whipped cream), and Hershey’s chocolate sauce.
A similar drink was launched at Tiger Sugar’s Taiwan and Hong Kong outlets last year, albeit served without cream.
It all sounds insanely sweet to us, especially with the additional cream. And just like when you order their regular Brown Sugar Boba Milk, you can’t customise your desired sugar level. But Tiger Sugar Singapore’s managing director Trevor Fong tells us: “The recipe has been improved, and the sweetness level is lowered [for the Singapore market]. Although our customers still can’t customise the sweetness level, we’ve already adjusted it on our end and are using less sugar for the Black Sugar Chocolate sauce.”
