Quiz of the week

How well do you know the news? Test your knowledge.

With many people holing up at home as they ride out the pesky coronavirus scare, now’s a good time to order in — even for Valentine’s Day. Deliveroo and KFC have partnered for a special Valentine’s Day deal to offer a meal and an amusing piece of jewellery.

1 of 3 Valentine’s Day Combo, $28.25

First, let's talk about the food. This set includes five pieces of chicken (Original Classic or Hot & Spicy), three pieces of Hot & Crispy Tenders, two medium Whipped Potatoes, one Cheese Fries and two cups of regular Pepsi Black. But that's not the fun part...

2 of 3 Behold, the 'Will Delive-Roo Be My Valentine' ring

Most importantly, the set meal includes this limited-edition hand-made ring with an adorably detailed tiny clay bucket of KFC chicken (pity the effect is kinda marred by Deliveroo’s logo on top of the awesome drumsticks). The ring was designed by Gemnesis, a local miniature food jewellery brand. The clay chicken pieces are pretty well made and textured to look like the real deal. The plastic ring also fit our finger snugly — but is similar to a plastic toy ring you'd buy for your little niece. It comes prettily packaged in a cushioned Deliveroo blue (Tiffany Blue if you’re deluded?) box. Super cute. There’s also an accompanying postcard printed with the words “If you like it, put a ring on it” so you can add a personalised message — simply type away in the “Allergy Note” box before checking out on the app.

  • 3 of 3 Only 30 rings available

Only the fastest fingers would be able to get their hands on one of these Will Delive-Roo Be My Valentine rings though. There are only 30 of these babies available while stocks last, with five rings at each participating outlet. There is no system in place to know if you’re guaranteed to receive the ring once you’ve made an order, so you can only wait for your chicken to be delivered and hope that the ring comes with it. All you have to do is pre-order the Valentine’s Day Combo via Deliveroo on 13 February from any of the six participating KFC restaurants: KFC Chinatown Point, Far East Plaza, Clementi Mall, Parkway Parade, Bedok Mall and Kallang Stadium. And keep your fingers crossed. Just like you should also keep your fingers crossed that the lady in your life will be amused — not annoyed — that you’re presenting her with this bauble adorned with fried chook instead of a glittering rock.

The Valentine’s Day Combo is only available for delivery via Delieroo at selected KFC outlets till Feb 14. Pre-orders start on Feb 13, while stocks last. https://deliveroo.com.sg/
