Craft beer brewery Young Master Ales Brewery from Hong Kong is known for its Asian-flavours-inspired beers and collaborations with other brands. This time, it has introduced fun limited-edition beers themed with adorable Japanese icons Hello Kitty and Retsuko (the lead character in the anime show ‘Aggretsuko’).

1 of 3 Young Master x Hello Kitty, $7 a can

The cute beer cans come in two different flavours, one for each character. For Hello Kitty, it’s Apple Pie A La Mode. No surprise, since apple pie is the cat's favourite food. Beer website Untappd describes it as an ale infused with the flavours of “cream, caramelised apples, cinnamon and vanilla ice cream”. Reviews have been mixed, with some netizens saying that it really does taste like apple pie, with others complaining: super sweet, almost cloyingly [so]. I guess it tastes like Hello Kitty when you’ve outgrown it two decades later .

2 of 3 Young Master x Aggretsuko, $7 a can

Much like its aggro death metal-singing animated red panda counterpart (named Retsuko, the star of the anime show ‘Aggretsuko’), this drink packs a punch. The Chilli Lager is infused with a spice blend of pepper and chilli. Reviews online have said that it leaves a tingling spicy sensation at the back of the throat. Interesting.
