How To Donate Unopened CNY Snacks & Other Pre-Loved Items To Migrant Workers
Because good things must share.
So you’ve been eating your weight in Chinese New Year snacks and now find yourself laden with a few extra kilos and heaps of unopened CNY treats? Fret not. You can now share the love and give away unopened Chinese New Year snacks to migrant workers in Singapore.
It’s Raining Raincoats (IRR), a local community organisation which works to support the needs of migrant workers in Singapore, is calling for donations of unopened and unexpired CNY cookies and treats. Donations collected will be distributed to the migrant worker community at their dormitories, worksites and construction areas by IRR volunteers. IRR’s CNY donation drive ends Feb 28.
How to donate? Gather all your unopened and unexpired CNY goodies. Then WhatsApp or message IRR volunteers who are located islandwide to arrange to drop off donations. The full list of volunteers and phone numbers can be found here.
Besides CNY snacks, IRR is also accepting donations of pre-loved items such as men’s clothes, umbrellas, backpacks and more. Remember you’re giving away items for someone else’s use, so ensure the food is unopened and unexpired, and pre-loved items are in excellent condition and washed and cleaned before donating.
