JJ Lin's legal team has been hard at work lately.

After going after 27 netizens for spreading false rumours about the 40-year-old singer being involved in Kris Wu's sex scandal, they've now sued a netizen for “infringement of image rights”.

The netizen, who goes by Gua Gua Mars on Weibo and video streaming site BiliBili, had repeatedly posted multiple offensive and unflattering videos and photos of JJ's face superimposed on women's bodies.

It's said that Gua Gua Mars has been face swapping JJ for a long time and those images were made with the purpose of ridiculing the singer.

Despite multiple warnings to cease what he's doing, Guagua Mars continued uploading content meant to mock JJ.

Chinese news outlets found out on September 23 that a lawsuit had been filed against Guagua Mars, adding that JJ is seeking 250K yuan (S$52.3K) for financial losses, 20K yuan (S$4.2K) for mental damages and 5K yuan (S$1K) for litigation fees. In total, JJ is seeking compensation amounting to S$57.5K.

News that JJ is taking legal action quickly against a netizen became a trending topic on Weibo, and Guagua Mars responded by deleting all JJ-related content from his page.

However, Guagua Mars reacted to the lawsuit by writing that he's speechless on Weibo. He also went on to post screen shots of news articles about JJ suing him.

Guagua Mars then accused JJ of “paying keyboard warriors (…) to create lies” about him after receiving a ton of hate from other netizens.

Guagua Mars has since deactivated his Weibo account.

According to netizens who had done some snooping, Guagua Mars is a fan of Taiwanese singer David Tao, and has shared the singer's music on multiple occasions.

Guagua Mars' social media handle was even read out by David on a live stream once, which has led many to believe that Guagua Mars is a longtime fan of David's and for whatever reason has a vendetta against JJ.

However, more rational netizens have reminded JJ's fans that Guagua Mars’ actions is no reason for them to go after David.
