Jordan Chan Reportedly Paid A Fortune Teller S$173K To Pick New Names For Him & His Family
Seems to have worked wonders for the star who recently came in first in Call Me By Fire.
Jordan Chan is reportedly the latest celeb to have a name change in hopes of improving his luck.
Hongkong media said that the 54-year-old has legally changed his Chinese name from ‘Chan Siu Chun’ to ‘Chan Tai Chuen’ after paying HK$1mil (S$173k) to consult famed fortune teller Chan Ngok Fui.
He is the same man who came up with Him Law and Tavia Yeung's new names.
On top of changing his own name, Jordan is also believed to have done the same for his wife, Cherrie Ying, 38, and their two sons Jasper, eight, and “Hoho”, one.
While the names of the two boys haven’t been revealed, Cherrie is said to have changed her name to Chan Din Yim Yee. It’s not known if she will still be using her stage name Ying Choi Yi. The ‘Din’ in her new name is believed to be from her maiden name, Ding Man.
Jordan and Cherrie have yet to address the rumours, but netizens dug up an old screenshot of Jordan’s IG account back in February 2020, when he had deleted most of his posts and changed his name to Chan Tai Chuen. This also suggests that the actor consulted the fortune teller over a year ago.
Netizens have commented that the name change seems to have done wonders for his career after he recently came in first in Call Me By Fire.
He reportedly owns over HK$500mil (S$86.7mil) in real estate, which is more than double of what he used to have just a few years ago.
