Lin Meijiao Mourning Death Of Mum; She & Chantalle Ng Decline To Comment On Huang Yiliang’s FB Live Rant
The veteran star’s mother passed away on the morning of September 25 at the age of 80.
In case you missed it, former Mediacorp actor Huang Yiliang, 60, recently went on a 30-minute rant on Facebook to defend himself after his estranged daughter Chantalle Ng, 26, said that she ended up in the hospital for a week after getting a beating from him when she was in primary five.
During the stream, Yiliang, whom Chantalle’s mum Lin Meijiao divorced in 1997 after six years of marriage, basically claimed that it was his ex-wife’s idea to discipline Chantalle as her tutor had reported that she was being “very disobedient”.
He also slammed Meijiao, 57, for taking him to court and then acting “innocent and pitiful” while he was accused of being an abusive father, especially since he had supposedly obtained her permission to hit their kid.
When 8days.sg reached out to Chantalle’s manager for a response to Yiliang’s side of the story, we were told that she is currently mourning the loss of her grandma, Meijiao’s mum. Both actresses have asked for privacy during this period.
8world also contacted Meijiao’s manager and learned that the veteran star’s mother passed away on the morning of September 25 at the age of 80. She declined to comment further and will be focusing on making preparations for her mother’s funeral.
On Mother’s Day this year (May 9), Meijiao dedicated a short but sweet message to her mum, along with a slideshow of their pictures.
“Being able to hold Mother’s hand and snuggle by her side gives me such happiness,” she wrote. “Mama, I love you.”
