This Week’s Best-Dressed Local Stars: Jul 24-31
The most stylish celeb OOTDs of the week.
From the striking numbers as seen on Joanne Peh, Carrie Wong and Amanda Chaang, to the sporty and vacay styles on Qi Yuwu and Zoe Tay, here are the standout celebrity OOTDs of the week.
While most of us are dressed in tees and shorts these days, Carrie’s choice of stay home outfit — comprising of a sleeveless orange cropped top, white jeans and shades — looks way cooler.
On our lust list right now: This Chanel tweed blazer. The timeless windowpane design makes this is an investment-worthy piece that can be worn over anything to ante up your look.
Hot mama alert! Joanne oozed elegance and subtle sexiness in this figure-hugging number by Fendi.
These days, it’s all about comfy dressing without looking too laidback. Zetong paired his pleated set from Issey Miyake with a matching grey sweatshirt to create an effortless yet stylish ensemble.
Donning a long, flowy printed black dress and slippers, Zoe looked all set to enjoy a tranquil day off work. We especially love the design on the back that looks almost like a cape.
Although Ying Ying looked liked she’d just pulled together a few random pieces from her wardrobe, her outfit looked like it could be part of a fashion shoot. Our favourite part: The mix of a masculine-looking blazer with ballerina-like skirt.
While most dudes would wear crisp white shirts and ties with long pants, Yuwu showed us how shorts can be an equally stylish alternative. The jacket added a sporty appeal to his professional-meets-play look, and we love it.
On a recent staycay with hubby Jon Chua, Amanda was spotted in not one but two bikini tops — one in animal print and the other in dark grey, looking fierce and fab. Throw on a pair of sunnies and some chunky gold tone jewellery to seal the look.
Xu Bin’s black suit above might appear basic at first glance, but take a closer look and you’ll notice the prints on his rolled up sleeve. The snazzy pattern lends an air of playfulness to the smart casual look.
The cool and clean look on Bing Yu is probably every minimalist dresser’s dream come true. We especially love that she opted for classic yet modern-looking pieces — the frilly, vest-like design on her button-down definitely stood out for us.
Was it coincidence that Jeremy’s nude colour shirt and black trousers totally matched with his car? Maybe, but it looked cute. We also love the flowy silhouette on Jeremy; it makes office wear a lot more comfortable and warm weather-friendly.
While we couldn’t quite pinpoint the look that Xiuhuan was going for, her mismatched pieces — the black lingerie top, shorts, safari-style jacket, and knee high boots — managed to look quite cool in a Lara Croft kind of way. Wish she'd worn combat boots instead.
Lingling looked radiant and ravishing in a pretty and delicate floral print dress, exuding major goddess-like charm.
Warning: This isn’t an outfit for the faint hearted. Projecting ultimate body confidence, Jade looked fit, fab and fearless in this beach-ready getup.
Mismatched prints and clashing colours combine to make Jamie’s sleeveless tie-front top a snazzy, no-extra-styling-needed design to dress up a casual look.
Black and white dressing doesn’t need to look boring, as long as you get creative like You Yi. She wore a long black pleated dress over a white sleeveless top, and sealed the weekend-ready outfit with a pair of boots for an edgy twist.
Don’t just wear your heart on your sleeve. Follow Shu An’s style cue and show what a passionate person you are by literally wearing hearts on your sleeve. This cute look is from Gucci.
Stripes are one of the forever stylish prints worth investing in, and Edwin’s OOTD is proof that they are easy to nail. Style a striped tee with a pair of dark trousers and freshly unboxed shoes for a fresh, weekend appropriate look.
Can you believe this is the first time Sophie is wearing a suit? The Class 95 DJ opted for a sharp mustard suit when she hosted the Tokyo Olympics coverage on Channel 5 this week and we think she looks ah-mazing. She should consider making pantsuits one of her wardrobe mainstays.
Kimberly paired her high waist denim shorts with a tiered off-shoulder top, creating an outfit that’s equal parts tough and feminine. The addition of a soft pink Dior tote made her look even more dreamy.
Is Unkle Funkle Dick Lee undergoing a style overhaul that we’re unaware of? Still, we’re loving his “senior accountant tapaus lunch” look comprising of a soft pink long sleeve shirt and navy pants.
