Nicholas Tse Called ‘God Of Investment’ By HK Media After Some Shares He Bought Grew By S$9.8mil In A Year
The 41-year-old has apparently never made a bad investment.
Nicholas Tse has now been dubbed the 'God of Investment' by Hongkong media after he made a killing on the stock market.
The 41-year-old, who is the ambassador of Chinese sports brand XTEP, forked out HK$12.4mil (S$2.14mil) to buy five million shares of the company in July 2020.
As the shares were sold to him at a subscription (aka discounted) price, there was also a one-year ban on trading these shares.
Due to this limitation, market analysts had criticised Nic for what they believed was a very risky investment.
But guess who had the last laugh.
XTEP's share prices soared in the last 14 months, reportedly going up by over 550 per cent. The money that Nic invested has grown by an estimated S$9.8mil, which Nic could bring home if he were to sell all his shares now.
This is not the first time Nicholas has invested in businesses outside of showbiz. The star is known for his ventures in F&B and he also owns a special effects company with branches in Hongkong, Shanghai and Beijing.
In fact, Nic is known to be a such a savvy investor, he has reaped profits in just about every business he's put his money in.
