Julie Tan Is Now A Video Game Streamer
The 28-year-old first started broadcasting her games on live streaming platform Twitch in January, and has quickly amassed a loyal following.
Live streaming’s the in-thing now, with so many celebs, like Ada Choi and Fan Bingbing hopping onto the band wagon.
Locally, there are stars like Wang Lei, Pornsak and Michelle Chia, who started live stream company Mdada with celebrity hairstylist Addy Lee to sell products on Facebook Live.
Now, Julie Tan, 28, is getting in on the fun too. But instead of selling beauty products online, Julie’s live streaming her gaming sessions.

The actress, who goes by Julavender on Twitch, now has over 2000 followers on the platform. Not bad considering she's only been live streaming for six months. Her streams usually amass over a thousand views, and range in duration, from an hour to eight.
Julie, who mostly streams the massively popular mobile game, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, has also tried her hand at playing a number of horror games, including Dead by Daylight and Resident Evil.
However, it appears that she isn’t exactly a fan of horror games.
Speaking to Shin Min Daily News, Julie shared that she “doesn't dare to play horror games like Resident Evil” but she still does ‘cos her followers had recommended them to her.
Occasionally, Julie also teams up with her viewers to game together, interacting with them in real-time as they leave comments.
It appears that Julie's popularity as a streamer has little to do with her career as an actress.
Julie is also really active on TikTok, which is now the most popular app among young people globally. Well, them and Jin Yinji.
“Once, when I was outside, a young fan ran up to me, and asked if I was that so-and-so from TikTok. I was pretty happy about that,” Julie laughed, adding that it’s “likely that some younger fans “have never seen the dramas [she has] acted in”.
