Alex Man Seen Needing Help To Walk Sparks Health Concerns; Some Netizens Think He Was Just Drunk
The Golden Pillow star announced his retirement five years ago due to diabetes.
Five years ago, Hongkong actor Alex Man announced that he was retiring from acting as he was suffering from diabetes, which might make it difficult for him to continue working.
Fortunately, his health improved and he eventually returned to work, with the main bulk of his gigs being performances in China.
However, one recent sighting of the Golden Pillow star, who turns 64 on July 25, had some fans worried that his condition may have taken a turn for the worse again.
Last Friday (Jul 16), several videos of Alex’s latest appearance at an event in Shanxi were posted on the internet. Although he had a huge smile on his face and seemed to be having a whale of a time, he was seen needing the help of staff members to support him while he walked.
He became his usual energetic self as soon as he took to the stage, but about halfway through, Alex suddenly squatted down — presumably out of exhaustion — and was unable to stand back up until the two hosts rushed over to pull him up.
Alex continued to need assistance to walk after stepping off the platform, and was even shown falling backwards at one point.
He would have hit the ground if not for the fact that there were men holding onto his arms on both sides.
As soon as the clips were released, netizens expressed their concern for Alex’s health, thinking that he may be getting too old and weak for such activities.
However, there were those who pointed out that his face was flushed (not to mention his massive grin), which suggests that he simply had a little too much to drink and was stumbling around 'cos he was intoxicated, so there was no need to fret over his well-being.
