Hongkong Actor Jerry Lamb And Actress Wife Divorce After 18 Years Of Marriage
The actor has deleted all traces of his ex-wife, Lily Hong, from Instagram.
Another showbiz marriage bites the dust. Hongkong actor-host Jerry Lamb and his wife, TVB artiste Lily Hong, have divorced after 18 years of marriage.
According to media reports, the couple, who have two teenage sons, signed the divorce papers last week, and Jerry, 49, has since deleted all traces of his ex-wife from Instagram.
Jerry, who is best known for his role as the loyal and simple-minded 'Bao Pi' in the Young and Dangerous film franchise, confirmed the news on Instagram last night (Sep 10) and thanked his ex-wife for helping him accomplish his dream of starting a family.
He wrote: “I met Lily Hong in 2001, married in 2002, [and over the years] we have both done a lot for this family. As I said in previous interviews, I hoped to get married, have kids and start my own family and Lily helped me to accomplish this dream. The world is still in chaos, [so] if you can find your own happiness, everyone should go search for it. No matter what, please have an open mind and give us time and space to work hard.”
Though Jerry did not reveal the reason for the divorce, evidently the split is more than amicable.
This morning, he updated his Instagram with words of support for Lily, writing: “As long as there is no revenge and hatred between us, why bother about what others think and say? Only the two of us understand that this is the best decision for everyone. You have already given [this marriage] your all. In future, work hard towards your goals. People can say the ugliest things, as long as you, I, and the people who love us are well, that’s all that matters.”

The couple has been through their fair share of ups and downs over the years.
When they first started dating in 2001, Jerry was accused of abandoning his girlfriend of 12 years Pan Jinghua after an art accident left her disfigured and with burns on her upper body. Then, Lily was said to be the third party that caused the break-up, though Jerry denied this.
There were rumours of trouble in the marriage in 2014 when Jerry added Lily’s name to the title deed of their Mayfair Bay home, and sources at that time said he did that in hope of saving their marriage.
Since tying the knot, Lily has devoted herself to her family. When not playing mum to her two boys, Bob and Jake, aged 17 and 15 respectively, she takes on occasional hosting and acting gigs and has worked together with Jerry in films like 1994 rom-com He's a Woman, She's a Man, and hit aviation drama Triumph in the Skies.
Lily is quite the singer and musician too. Not only was she once a backup vocalist for Young and Dangerous star Ekin Cheng and Canto-pop diva Joey Yung, she has also released a piano album and was even part of a girl group.
