Hongkong star Rain Li has split from her Chinese businessman husband, Eric Huang, after less than two years of marriage.
The 36-year-old singer-actress revealed the news yesterday (Nov 12), saying that they finalised the divorce in September. According to an East Net report, the couple had drifted apart during the pandemic because they live in different cities. Eric, 38, is based in China, and Rain, in Hongkong. In June, Rain told the media at an event that she has not seen Eric for three months.
East Net also said that the split is amicable and no third party was involved. Rain will reportedly not request for alimony either.
Like her divorce, Rain’s marriage to Eric came out of the blue too. The actress, who had a reputation for dating her co-stars, announced that she had tied the knot last February after just six months of dating.
The couple had known each other for many years but only took their relationship to the next level after Rain split from Hongkong actor Keith Ho.
Little is known about Eric except that he runs a steel business in China and owns several properties in Beijing. He reportedly comes from a prominent family with a net worth of more than one billion yuan (S$204mil).
