Quiz of the week

How well do you know the news? Test your knowledge.

Is it just us, or do Jay Chou and JJ Lin seem to have a lot of lookalikes out there (see here, here, and here)?

Unlike most of the other doppelgängers who seem to be unaware of their similarities to the superstars until they go viral, there are two guys who have decided to take full advantage of their resemblances to the Mandopop titans by filming song covers and posting them on the internet.

1 of 4 But first, a reminder of what the real JJ and Jay look like

Recently, a couple of videos by Douyin user “YE810041” were compiled into a single clip and uploaded to Facebook, where it has since garnered over 218,000 views and almost 5,000 comments at the time of writing.

The post shows two guys who, even without any clear description or explanation, are clearly meant to be ‘cosplaying’ Jay and JJ, right down to JJ’s signature ever-present bangs.

And, our sincerest apologies to Jay, but we thought it was really him in the video for a split second. Or at least, him in his, erm, fluffier days.

3 of 4 Now we wanna see the real Jay and JJ singing karaoke together
4 of 4 Guess it’s not easy singing like Jay Chou

As for the singing skills of the lookalikes… well, let’s just say they could benefit from some lessons and lots of practice, but then again, you’d have to be crazy talented to reach Jay and JJ’s levels.

Unsurprisingly, the comments section on Facebook is filled with people tagging their friends and having a laugh. While some are able to see the likeness, others are not so convinced, but we reckon everyone can agree that this is thoroughly entertaining:And here’s a snippet of a duet between the real ‘Double Js’ (or should it be 'Triple Js'?) to get you pumped for the next time they ever collaborate again:

JJ Lin's SANCTUARY FINALE virtual concert will be streamed live tonight (Jul 10) at 8pm. Tickets available on SISTIC.
