Quiz of the week

How well do you know the news? Test your knowledge.

Stories of celebs having exaggerated feelings of self-importance after becoming famous are pretty common. That’s why stories of stars doing the exact opposite are always endearing.

Take JJ Lin for example. Despite his hectic schedule, which sees him jet-setting around the world on the regular, he often spends time making sure that his fans know that they are appreciated.

Last August, JJ replied to a young fan on Weibo who whined on social media that she was unable to go for his concert because she wasn't old enough. “Don’t worry. I’ll sing for a few more years. That way, you’ll be able to watch more [of my] concerts,” he commented on her post. Understandably, his response sent her — and everyone else — into a meltdown.

Last week, he melted hearts again after he posted a photo of a fan on his Weibo. She was posing outside his company, JFJ Productions, with a cup of coffee in hand. Although he had taken the photo from some distance away, the eagle-eyed JJ noticed that the drink was purchased from his coffee shop, Miracle Coffee, which is located just under his studio.

“You came to visit [my office], so I’m here to visit [Weibo to post this] too!” he cheekily wrote.

“What has she done to deserve such luck? She’s the woman that JJ Lin sneaked a photo of,” wrote one netizen, as others chimed in with ideas on how to get noticed by their idol one day.

Others also noted that this is not the first time JJ has done this, as he took a video of a fan wearing his merchandise at a restaurant and posted it on his Weibo last August.

JJ Lin fans, you know what to do now.
