Looks like Rainie Yang didn’t have to wait another 300 days to reunite with husband Li Ronghao again.

Last night (Jul 12), the Taiwanese singer shared an Instagram pic of them celebrating Ronghao’s 36th birthday, along with the caption: “A picture of happiness. Happy birthday. Best birthday gift.”

Wait, did she just refer to herself as the 'best gift'?

The photo, which shows Rainie posing playfully beside Ronghao as he makes his birthday wish, surprised fans as many thought the couple would spend the occasion apart. In case you forgot, Rainie had returned to Taiwan in April after completing her stint on Sisters Who Make Waves 2, which is filmed in China.

Rainie had also showed no signs on social media that she was already in Beijing when she wished Ronghao a happy birthday in the early hours on July 11.

The couple have a tradition of sending each other birthday greetings at the stroke of midnight, and like clockwork, Rainie posted a pic of Ronghao’s new album with the caption: “Brave the world together. Happy birthday my boy.”

As it turns out, she had travelled to China two weeks ago, and even planned it such that she would complete her quarantine on his birthday.

Fans couldn’t help but gush at “how sweet” Rainie is, and that she is indeed the “best birthday gift”.

Due to their busy schedules, the couple, who got married in September 2019, barely got to spend time as newlyweds before they were forced apart by travel restrictions that had been put in place because of COVID-19.

They finally reunited in January this year after 304 days when Rainie went to China to participate in reality show Sisters Who Make Waves 2.

She returned to Taiwan in April to promote her movie Kidnapped Soul and the nation has been in semi-lockdown since mid-May when it saw a surge in COVID-19 cases.
