Here are some very inspiring before-and-after pics for anyone who’s looking to shed all that extra pandemic weight.

Taiwanese singer Lu Xue Rui, who’s best known for taking part in the first season of singing competition One Million Star in 2007, recently shared that he managed to lose 31kg in six months after a health examination uncovered some pretty worrying results.

According to the 33-year-old, he’d gone for a health checkup at the start of the year. He then found that he has high blood pressure and high cholesterol, amongst other health problems.

Xue Rui then made up his mind to embark on a diet. However, he wasn't a fan of clean meals — chicken breast isn’t exactly the most exciting food, right? — so he decided to consult a professional dietician, who came up with a diet plan for him.

Although the singer didn’t reveal the details in his post, he did reply to a netizen’s comment asking for more tips, revealing that his diet “wasn’t anything special”.

“I merely cut down on the amount of food I was eating gradually,” he wrote, adding that his diet plan essentially allowed him to reduce his calorie intake, while still being able to indulge in good food and wine.

Yes, wine.

Apart from changing his diet, Xue Rui also introduced some changes into his lifestyle.

For example, instead of staying up all night, and only going to bed when the sun rises, Xue Rui now turns in for the night by 2am. This ensures that he is well-rested and that his body has enough time to recharge itself. Also, it reduces the temptation to have supper.

“I’ve never added “losing weight” as a goal in my own plans. I only made changes to my usual working habits, as well as my lifestyle and quality of life,” he wrote on Instagram. “But I’m still very happy [with my weight loss].”

And for good reason. Doesn’t Xue Rui almost look like a different person?
