Tanya Chua Says She’s Happily Single, But Feel Free To Introduce Potential Suitors To Her
The 46-year-old, who just released her new album Depart, is giving all her love to her plants and cats for now.
Tanya Chua, who is based in Taiwan, has released her 12th and latest album Depart. The 46-year-old Singaporean singer recently held a virtual listening party for regional media and at the event, she shared a little about her personal life.
The famously private star, who had a short-lived romance with French pastry chef Johann Martin, whom she met at baking school in Paris in 2016, revealed that she is now single. And she is completely cool with that.
So cool, in fact, that when she introduced her new track ‘Romanticism’, she joked that “for all you know [after writing this song, a new romance] will come [into her life]”.
Oh, and feel free to introduce potential suitors to her.
“If you want to see me with someone in particular, please introduce [him] to me,” she told reporters.
“My current suitors are my job, plants, and my cats. I am very content, she said. Sometimes when you reach a certain age, you feel that you don’t have to be in love for your life to feel complete. I am very happy now, and don’t rely on others for my own happiness!
She added: “Whether I date or not is not important. It is a small matter. Now I want to focus on bigger things. I want to do big things!”
And by bigger things, she means travelling, which she dearly misses.
At the top of her list is, quite ironically, Paris aka the city of love.
Tanya had originally planned a trip to Paris for her birthday last January, but had to cancel it a day before she was scheduled to fly because of the pandemic.
Like many others during the pandemic, she became an obsessed plant parent, and has even created a little “farm” on her balcony.
For me, watching the seeds germinate and grow in the soil every day is like watching TV. Now I don't want to watch TV, I just want to watch the pot of soil, she laughed.
