Taufik Batisah Is Not Quitting Showbiz To Be A Property Agent
Sure, he and his older brother have just started their own property business but singing is still the OG Singapore Idol’s full-time job.
You may have read that Singapore Idol Taufik Batisah is now a registered property agent. While that’s true, it’s not the whole truth. Contrary to popular belief, Taufik is not changing his career. Just like how he had ventured into F&B with his own fried chicken eatery Chix Hot Chicken, the go-getting Taufik now has his sights set on conquering another industry. His new business venture? A property business with his older brother called Batisah Brothers Property. So fans of Taufik, can rest assured. Singing is still the OG Singapore Idol’s full-time job while property (and fried chicken) remains his sideline.
The 37-year-old singer posted a video on his Instagram yesterday (Sep 23) where he clarified the confusion that arose after it was reported that he’s now a property agent. In the two-and-a-half minute clip, Taufik, who described himself as “someone who constantly pushes himself to take on new challenges , talked about how he had segued from being “just a singer” to a singer-songwriter, to a singer-songwriter-producer and then to a singer-songwriter-producer-actor, all while collecting a slew of awards along the way.
He was then motivated to “try out entrepreneurship” which led him to set up “Singapore’s first Nashville-inspired hot chicken shop” aka Chix Hot Chicken.
And it was because of his F&B venture that he decided to “expand on [his] entrepreneurship” by starting his own property business with his older brother Mus Batisah, who joins Taufik at this point of the video. According to the singer, Mus has more than half a decade of experience in the property industry.
He then ends his video telling his fans not to worry and that “music and performing is still [my] first love.” “I will still be singing, performing and acting for you guys so do look out for new works from me in the near future,” he added.
His management company Hype Records also released a statement “to set the records straight”, calling previous reports on Taufik’s alleged career switch “#fakenews”.
“Taufik Batisah’s priority has been and remains as an accomplished singer, songwriter, actor and performer. Being an entrepreneur, Taufik has ventured into the F&B scene with aplomb and similarly now, he is partnering his brother to pursue entrepreneurial success in the property business arena,” read the statement that was posted on Facebook.
“We hope this clarifies the media and any form of speculation that [has] risen amidst the hazy air and F1 roar,” added Hype.
