Wang Leehom, Christine Fan & Wilber Pan Celebrated Christmas Early With Godfrey Gao’s Dad
They threw an early Christmas party in memory of their late pal.
Godfrey Gao had a lot of close friends when he was alive and some of them came together yesterday to celebrate the actor, who passed away on November 27 from cardiac arrest. Taiwanese singer Christine Fan, whose husband Blackie Chen was one of the late star’s pals, posted a series of photos and videos on Instagram last night (Dec 10) of their Christmas gathering. And one of the guests was Godfrey’s father, Tsao Tao-cheng.
Christine wrote on IG: “We chatted with Godfrey’s father and sang songs, and it was a very special night. God says 'A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones'. I think Godfrey wishes that all of us, including his beloved family and friends, will spend every day happily. Only this way can he leave in peace, to the happiest place with no worries. We miss you, we really do, and I hope we can continue being family in heaven soon, and be brother and sister to each other.”
Also at the party were Wang Leehom and Wilber Pan. In one of the videos, Leehom is seen playing the Beatles’ ‘Hey Jude’ on guitar while Wilber and Christine join him for a rendition of the song. Seated next to them is Godfrey’s dad who can also be seen singing along.

Another video showed the Christmas decorations around the room, including a Christmas wreath in the shape of the letter ‘G’, which was what Godfrey’s pals called him. And in one of the photos, the group can be seen pointing to the ‘G’ wreath. Godfrey’s funeral will be held this Sunday, December 15 but his memory will last forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
