Best Spots For Photos With Over 800 Inflatable Gudetama, Hello Kitty And My Melody Inflatables At Sentosa FunFest 2019
Sanrio heaven is a place on Sentosa… but only till Mar 24.
There’s no such thing as a free lunch but there is plenty of free stuff to do on Sentosa, where Singapore residents get free entry from now until Mar 24 when they drive or take the Sentosa Express into the island. Like what, you ask. Feast your eyes on over 800 totes adorbs Gudetama, Hello Kitty and My Melody giant inflatables scattered all over Palawan Green. And yes, you don’t have to pay to get in, unlike some other inflatable wonderlands.
Sure, there are massive ones that are up to 4.4m tall, but there are plenty of smaller gems that you may blink and miss them. Here’s a breakdown on how to zero in on the best photo spots for those winning Instagram shots.
Right next to the Sentosa Beach car park is a Hello Kitty greeting guests.
Instead, stop for a photo with this big-headed cutie which is hiding behind the Palawan Green sign.
Get your egg-y puns ready because you’re gonna need a lot of them when you’re here Instagramming up a storm at Gudetama haven, where the inflatables range from 0.9m to 1.5m tall, and the biggest one towers at 3m.
Hungry? Lay your hands off the Sanrio mascot and buy a drink and snacks from a food truck nearby instead. Nope, there are no eggs on the menu.
Towering at 4.4m is this colossal My Melody inflatable, the biggest one in this edition of FunFest.
Insta-worthy photo points like these are peppered around the venue. This one is just before an area that’s been christened ‘Funny Mirrors’ on the event map.
Let your kids unleash their inner Ninja Warrior on the beach with nine massive inflatable playgrounds, like this two-lane tall slide. Yes, they will get wet, so bring an extra change of clothes for the little tykes.
Palawan Green will host daily screenings of family-friendly flicks like Frozen, Minions and The Secret Life of Pets, at 7.30pm. Fuel up from a F&B tent nearby selling grub like popcorn, burgers and prata wraps, as well as drinks, ice-cream and beer (much-needed for weary parents, we reckon).
Sentosa FunFest 2019 is on Mar 16-24, 10am-7pm, at Palawan Green in Sentosa. Free entry into Sentosa via Sentosa Express and Sentosa gantry (drive-in) for Singapore residents. More info at www.sentosa.com.sg/funfest.
