  • 11 of 27 Jun 22-23: Ink & Art at The Cathay

You’ve watched countless movies here, feasted at its eateries, but have you ever gotten a tattoo at The Cathay? For this weekend only, you can. For free, too. The Cathay’s Ink & Art event is back, with tattoo artists from Traditions Tattoo Collective doling out free tats for shoppers. Here’s the catch: You have to spend a minimum of $80 in up to two receipts (from June 21-23) at any shop in The Cathay. Here’s another catch: You don’t get to choose what’s inked on you — you’ll be given a series of words to select from and you’ll get a tattoo based on the artist’s interpretation of your choice. What’s even cooler about getting a tattoo? Getting a mystery one. Just choose the right words. Tattoo slots are limited and are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Commitment-phobes can skip the real ink and instead get (painless) temporary tattoos, created from organic ink, watch a live tattoo showcase by the Traditions Tattoo Collective folks happening once a day, or just take in live music and art performances by homegrown artists.

Jun 22-23, 1-9pm, at The Cathay (2 Handy Road). Admisssion is free. More info at http://thecathay.com.sg/event/ink-and-art
