Quiz of the week

How well do you know the news? Test your knowledge.

Entertainment venues including clubs and bars in Singapore will close from tonight (Mar 26) at 11.59pm until Apr 30, as part of efforts to minimise the spread of Covid-19. So where do you go for a big night out if you need to let loose after a whole day of working from home? Well, there’s a party you can go to where there's no cover charge and no crowds. Hey, you don't even need to leave your home. How’s that for safe distancing?

1 of 2 Revellers, rejoice

Just cos the clubs are closed doesn’t mean the party has to stop. Now you can bring the Zouk party home, literally, with what’s touted as the “first cloud clubbing experience in Southeast Asia”, in a collab by Zouk, local esports bigwigs Razer, and global live streaming platform Bigo.

If it all sounds too high tech for you, we’ll break it down for you. Zouk’s resident DJs will spin live from the club in this series of closed-door DJ sets, and it will be streamed live on Razer’s BigO channel. To get in on the action, download the Bigo Live app and follow Razer (Bigo ID: Razer). The first online partay is on Mar 27 (Fri) at 8pm, with more dates to be announced.

Dance like no one’s watching (because, literally, no one is). Should you invite your kakis over? Do so at your own discretion. If you do, make sure there are not more than nine pals, okay?

2 of 2 Party perks

There’s a livestream chat function that lets viewers interact with the DJs (though we’re not sure how well song requests will sit with DJs, even in the virtual realm). You can also use Bigo Live’s functions such to send virtual gifts with online credits system Razer Gold or via gaming loyalty programme Razer Silver. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Singapore government’s fight against Covid-19. Hourly giveaways are also happening so keep your eyes peeled as you keep calm and rave on.

Mar 27, from 8pm, streaming on Razer's Bigo Channel. The Bigo Live app is available on the App Store and Google Play.
