Quiz of the week

How well do you know the news? Test your knowledge.

It’s a theme park! It’s Jurassic Park! Nope, it’s the new Changi Airport Connector, a 3.5km cycling and jogging path that links Changi Airport to East Coast Park.

You need to visit Jurassic Mile, bronto.

Just launched on Oct 11, the Changi Airport Connector is not like other cycling and jogging paths in Singapore — it’s got a few pre-historic visitors for you to selfie up a storm with along the way. It starts at Changi Airport Terminal 2, carries on down Airport Boulevard alongside ground handling services offices, then meanders at T4. Along the way, there’s a café, bike rental shops, and even pay-per-use shower facilities.

Once you arrive at T4, you’d have arrived at the main attraction of the connector: the 1km-long Jurassic Mile, Singapore’s largest permanent outdoor display of over 20 life-sized dinosaurs for you to gawk at. Don’t just take selfies with towering T-Rexes or brontosauruses while you’re there, though. There are info panels about the nine species of the pre-historic creatures so be sure to stop and read.

1 of 2 Jurassic Mile: Booking required on weekends

It’s open 24 hours and admission is free. However, for safe distancing purposes, you need to pre-book entry if you’re visiting on Fridays to Sundays at 9am to midnight, from Oct 16 to Jan 3. Book at https://playpass.changiairport.com/#/jurassicmile2020. Visitors will be allowed to enter every 30 minutes, and can stay for up to one hour. Planning a trip down on Monday to Thursday? Bookings are not necessary on these days.

  • 2 of 2 How to get there

Regardless of how you’re getting here, the landmark you should be looking out for is Hub & Spoke at Changi Airport Connector (below), a pit stop comprising a café, bike rental shop GoCycling, bicycle lockers ($5 per day) and shower facilities (from $3 per entry).

Tip: Rent a bike at GoCycling at Hub & Spoke (from $8 per hour for adults) and return it at any one of GoCycling’s seven other shops around the island. There are outlets at Changi Beach Park and East Coast Park (if you’re low on stamina), or for a wheel-y good workout, cycle from here and return the bike at Coney Island or Jurong Lake Gardens.

Getting there: If you’re taking public transport, alight at the bus stop at Terminal 2, or at Changi Airport MRT station. Arriving by taxi or car? Alight at the drop-off point inside the Hub & Spoke car park (right opposite the café) or at Changi Airport Terminal 2, beside Car Park 2A. On-ground signage from these various points will lead you to Hub & Spoke.
Shortcut alert: To head directly to Jurassic Mile (we get it, not everyone wants to walk the entire 3.5km), drop off or park at Changi Airport T4 Car Park 4A, and Jurassic Mile is right next to it. You’re welcome.
