You Can Now Book A Table At Zouk To Watch A Movie, But You’ll Need TraceTogether To Enter
These are not your regular movie screenings, okay?
From Oct 30, you’ll be able to book a table at Zouk once more, but you'll be watching movies instead of dancing the night away.
The mega club has launched the Zouk Cinema Club, and this pop-up cinema is just one of the many ways that the Clarke Quay venue has pivoted its business during these pandemic times, especially as nightlife venues are likely to remain shut even when Phase 3 rolls around.
Festivities kick off on Oct 30. Subsequently, there will be one screening per night (each showing two movies) from Wednesday to Saturday, from 6pm to 10.30pm. There’s a capacity limit of 50 people or 14 tables per night.
If you think you’re just paying money for some movie tickets and popcorn, you’re wrong. Rather than tickets, you’ll have to buy table packages, which vary based on the day of the week.
On Wednesdays, expect to pay $75++ for one to two people and get one jug of house pours or long island tea (it’s $175++ for three to five people, and you get three jugs of booze). On Thursdays to Saturdays, it’s a bottle of Moet and Chandon at $150++ for one to two people, or one bottle of Moet and one bottle of Belvedere at $350++ for a group of three to five.
If you need even more booze, a jug of housepours is going at $50++ while a jug of long island tea is $65++. Finger food, such as Garrett popcorn ($8), hot dogs or prata dogs ($8), will also be available.
These are themed movie nights at Zouk Cinema Club, okay, so the experience starts from the moment you step into the club. For the inaugural screening month of November, the theme is ‘For the Love of Music’ (and rightly so). The line-up of musical films include Moulin Rouge, Grease and The Greatest Showman (however, this weekend’s movies are Halloween-themed). Guests will be teleported to the cobbled streets of Montmarte in Paris in 1899, into the world of Moulin Rouge as the club will be transformed with the addition of lush velvet décor and a replica of the famed Red Mill.
There’s a slew of Covid-19 protocols in place to keep patrons safe, including using the TraceTogether app or token to do a SafeEntry check-in into the club, in line with regulations at other cinema halls. Entry using the SafeEntry QR code via SingPass, QR code scanners, the camera app or NRIC bar code will not be permitted. There’s also a maximum of five people per group, with groups of patrons seated at least 1m apart. Cleaning crew will also be sanitising common surfaces every 30 minutes.
Zouk Cinema Club is at 3C River Valley Rd, The Cannery, #02-05. More info at https://zoukclub.com/ cinemaclub/.
