Taiwanese Model Janet Chia’s Poodle Brutally Attacked By Another Dog While Out On A Run
Fortunately, Qbi is healing well now.
Well, this is scary.
Taiwanese model Janet Chia, 47, took to her Facebook page recently to share that her beloved poodle Qbi had been attacked by another dog.
The model also posted pictures of the injuries suffered by Qpi, who was bitten multiple times.
According to Janet, the attack happened at the National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall where they were out for a run. There, they encountered a “short-legged dog” who bolted towards them.
“I was wondering how the dog’s short legs were able to run so quickly, and how cute it was, but I never expected that he would come up to chomp on Qbi’s rump without hesitation,” Janet wrote.
“Regardless of how much we yelled, roared or kicked at him, the dog would not let go, it really scared us to death. The stalemate lasted for around a minute and a half. The dog loosened their bite midway through, only to chomp down once more, added Janet.
To make things worse, the first thing the dog's owner said after stopping the attack was: “[He] only wanted to make friends with you guys”.
Janet was infuriated, and she raised her voice at the owner, who clarified that the dog was just “mischievous”.
Janet said that she originally wanted to report the case to the Taipei City Animal Protection Office when they contacted her to ask if they needed to intervene.
However, she declined their offer, and chose to ask their officers to visit the other dog's owner to educate him on proper dog-walking etiquette.
She also asked them to assess the dog to see if it needed to be muzzled when out in public.
Yesterday (Nov 15), Janet posted a final update on the whole ordeal.
She revealed that Qbi is healing well, and that she has reconciled things with the owner of the other dog.
Janet wrote that her family brought Qbi to two different doctors, before settling on a treatment option that did not require general anesthesia.
She also shared that the owner of the other dog has called her to express his remorse multiple times. Apart from that, he offered to pay for all medical expenses, which cost NT$5,600 (S$272).
In the end, the owner of the dog gave NT$12,000 (S$584) with the extra amount intended as a red packet for Qbi.
However, Janet donated the excess sum to an animal charity foundation in Qbi’s name. Photos: Janet Chia/Facebook
