NHB’s community service for 2012!
The National Heritage Board revealed its rough plans for the year earlier today and it looks like there’s going to be a lot of grassroots, community and history-related stuff going on in and around the museums.
There’s talk of recording oral history, looking at void decks and wet markets, (re)launching heritage trails at Jalan Besar and Kampong Glam. There are plans to turn one of the National Museum’s galleries into a Community Gallery where cultural and ethnic groups or clan associations can hold exhibitions.
Read on for some of the events to expect this year.
