The RAT plays catch up! Updates, updates and more updates!

Quiz of the week

How well do you know the news? Test your knowledge.

The RAT apologises to his three loyal blog readers for neglecting them these past few weeks of very sporadic updates. On behalf of his lower right wisdom tooth, his lower back and – to an extremely minute degree, in case my boss is reading this -- the World Cup, he says sorry and promises to make up for it. Erm, soon. For now, a smattering of updates of things the RAT has missed/will hopefully not miss after spending the past few days crawling to and from bed.     UPDATE 1 That quiet little writers fest for the younger set called Lit Up Singapore 2010: Emerging Writers & Performers kicks off tomorrow, July 9, and runs all the way till the 18th. They’re expecting 25,000 folks to participate in events (workshops, panel discussions, writing classes, poetry slams, etc) at schools island-wide. Among the highlights is the National Youth Poetry Slam League Finals on July 17. The host of writers come from India Australia, the Philippines, Malaysia, USA and UK. Erm, and I’m supposed to be part of the Singapore writers contingent along with other more familiar names in the literary scene. That said, I’m still not sure what I’m supposed to be doing exactly – they asked me to be one of the judges for a poetry slam this Saturday but – curses! – I’ve got a dentist appointment. Will let you guys know once I get more updates. In the meantime, check out their site here.     UPDATE 2 Apparently, The Substation loves me as well. Yes, after a couple of years of publicly professing my man-crush, dear S has finally reciprocated. I received a love letter this morning!
