S'pore Arts Fest review committee revealed!
Hola! Anyone else recovering from Spain’s football master class this morning? Four goals? Boring? Yeah, right.
Anyways, I know the blog’s been pretty quiet these past couple of weeks. This RAT was flying around quite a bit and missed quite a number of interesting things.
But we’re back and raring to go, starting off with this bit of news: the Singapore Arts Festival review committee has been announced.
The National Arts Council has revealed the 17-member team that’ll be looking at and formulating a gameplan for the festival’s 2014 “resurrection” (as well as possible lead-up activities next year) by December.
The group, consisting of members from the arts, media and public sectors, will be chaired by NAC chief exec Benson Puah.
They are: Visual artist Choy Ka Fai; Singapore Symphony Orchestra/Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music chairman Goh Yew Lin; Era Dance Company artistic director Osman Abdul Hamid;
W!ld Rice artistic director Ivan Heng; The Substation artistic director Noor Effendy Ibrahim; Arts NMP Janice Koh;
Dramabox artistic director Kok Heng Leun; Singapore Repertory Theatre artistic director Gaurav Kripalani; Apsaras Arts creative/managing director Aravinth Kumarasamy;
National Museum of Singapore director Lee Chor Lin; Urban Redevelopment Authority executive place manager Ken Lee; Esplanade director of programming JP Nathan;
Dance artist Joavien Ng, TheatreWorks artistic director Ong Keng Sen; ST Life! deputy editor Ong Sor Fern; Singapore Tourism Board executive director (arts and entertainment) Lynette Pang; and LASALLE College of the Arts provost Venka Purushothaman.
The group’s going to be looking at the fest’s programming director and structure, and possible operating model, as well as carrying out consultations with the public and the arts community.
Let the mulling begin!
