Details for the year-long Kuo Pao Kun Festival commemorating the theatre doyen’s 10th death anniversary were revealed, even as the annual arts walkabout Open House returned, this time to “Occupy Tiong Bahru”. Page One bookstore officially closed, Noise Singapore Festival began with its festival showcase exhibition, and the National Heritage Board commemorated the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Singapore with the launch of walking trails and markers. Finally, respected writer Robert Yeo received the prestigious regional literary prize South-east Asia Write Award.
