Oct 15 to 21 The celebration of Singapore art continued last week as five artists received the Cultural Medallion in the National Arts Council’s annual arts awards—theatre stalwart T. Sasitharan, visual artists Ho Ho Ying and Milenko Prvacki, conductor Jennifer Tham and writer JM Sali. Nine artists also received the Young Artist Award. Novelist Suchen Christine Lim, meanwhile, was named the Singapore winner of the SEA Write Award. Elsewhere, the cast and crew of the controversial movie Sex.Lies.FamilyValues announced they will be appealing Media Development Authority’s decision to pull it out of cinema, the Singapore Tyler Print Institute held its 10th anniversary gala dinner, Esplanade’s Da:ns Festival kicked off and School Of The Arts founding principal Rebecca Chew announced she will be stepping down at the end of the year.
