SINGAPORE — From Hong Kong to Ireland, people across the globe took to food delivery company Deliveroo’s Twitter account to vent their frustrations at not receiving their orders on Thursday (Aug 20).
In Singapore, its mobile application showed that there was a “problem” on the homepage, with an apology by the company.
“There’s a problem. We’re really sorry,” the statement on the app read when TODAY tried ordering food to One-north on Thursday at around 8.30pm.
For at least two hours, customers could not place orders and if they had already ordered, the system could not check or track their status.
Similarly, the company’s website was also down, showing an error message.
On Twitter, users around the world complained on the company’s page, which is based in the United Kingdom.
Responding to a user in Hong Kong, Deliveroo acknowledged that it is “currently having some difficulties across the app and website”.
“We’re working hard to get back up and running as soon as possible,” the Twitter message read.
TODAY has reached out to Deliveroo in Singapore for comments.
Earlier on Thursday, tech giant Google experienced a glitch across its products and services, including Gmail for some users.
When contacted, Google referred TODAY to its G Suite dashboard for the most recent status updates.
