SINGAPORE — The Mona Lisa graced Singapore with its presence in a show, albeit not Leonardo da Vinci’s famous version at the Louvre Museum, but a version he did a decade earlier. The Singapore International Film Festival ended on a positive note, drawing an audience of 10,000, with short films by Kirsten Tan and Shijie Tan bagging wins at the Silver Screen Awards, where Indian director Chaitanya Tamhane also bagged Best Director and Best Film for Court. Elsewhere, telco StarHub announced a tie-up with Russian e-book service Bookmate to provide half a million e-books to Singapore via subscription. Finally, the National Heritage Board’s retail arm Museum Label teamed up with THE FARM STORE to create 40 objects through 40 Singapore artists and designers for its EVERYDAY OBJECTS line of lifestyle products.
