State Of The Arts: Jan 21 to 27

Singapore — Without a doubt, it was the busiest week for the visual arts scene, what with the four-day Art Stage Singapore at the forefront of a whole range of arts-related events that also included, among others: An open house-cum-exhibition by visual artist tenants at Goodman Arts Centre; the opening of big shows at the Singapore Art Museum (Collectors Show and President’s Young Talents) and National Museum Of Singapore (John Clang’s solo exhibition); and the country’s first hotel art fair, Worlds Apart Art Fair. On the performing arts side, the hit musical Jersey Boys wrapped up its Singapore run while M1 Singapore Fringe Festival also closed. MAYO MARTIN
