SINGAPORE — Last week, Benson Puah stepped down as chief executive of the National Arts Council (NAC) after a successful four-year tenure, with his deputy, Yvonne Tham, serving as interim CEO.
SINGAPORE — Last week, Benson Puah stepped down as chief executive of the National Arts Council (NAC) after a successful four-year tenure, with his deputy, Yvonne Tham, serving as interim CEO.
He continues to serve as CEO of The Esplanade. The NAC, as well as the National Heritage Board, also announced the 29 recipients of its Arts and Heritage Scholarships for 2013. The NHB, meanwhile, appointed seven new board members, including Singapore Repertory Theatre artistic director Gaurav Kripalani and architect Zahidi Abdul Rahman.
Elsewhere, the Singapore Short Cuts short film programme opened its 10th edition, and Popular Holdings bought the rights to use the brand name of bookstore Borders in Singapore, with its first store set to open by the end of the year. MAYO MARTIN
