SINGAPORE — Capitol Theatre finally opened its doors with the production Singapura: The Musical as the first show to be held in the newly refurbished venue. Peranakan Museum, meanwhile, opened its latest exhibition, which puts the spotlight on 50 Peranakan figures who have been influential in Singapore’s history. The Rail Corridor gets some action with the music-meets-art event Off The Rails at the Rail Corridor Art Space. The Singapore Heritage Fest 2015 wrapped up, and speaking of heritage, The American Express Foundation made a two-year US$160,000 (S$214,000) donation to the National Heritage Board to revitalise the Singapore River Heritage Trail. Meanwhile, while there is no Singapore film being screened at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival, film-maker Kirsten Tan has been busy with countless meetings for her first feature film, Popeye, as part of the festival’s Cinefondation’s L’Atelier.
