SINGAPORE — It has been another busy week, with this year’s Singapore International Photography Festival kicking off. Army Daze playwright Michael Chiang launched his book of collected plays, Play Things, and The Finger Players began its 15th anniversary celebrations. It was also announced that Member of Parliament and theatre producer Baey Yam Keng is set to act in a social-media-inspired play entitled Like Me. I Like. Meanwhile, film-maker Ken Kwek’s Unlucky Plaza was announced as the opening film for the Singapore International Film Festival in December, while Tan Pin Pin has resubmitted for classification her documentary To Singapore, With Love, which was initially classified as Not Allowed For All Ratings (NAR). Elsewhere, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre, which will open by 2016, and the Urban Redevelopment Authority announced the recipients of its Architectural Heritage Awards, which included a 150-year-old shophouse.
