In an interview with Zhejiang TV on Friday (Oct 7) ahead of the finals of Sing! China, Nathan Hartono's mentor Jay Chou has revealed that he is "a bit anxious" over Hartono's performance. Revealing that the 25-year-old finalist will be singing one of Chou's very own song, his mentor and judge on the show said: "I'm most worried that Nathan will forget the lyrics. Like me, he sometimes forgets the lyrics. And my lyrics are rather difficult to memorise."

Chou added that while Hartono is strong in performing English songs, this time around he will be singing entirely in Mandarin, without mxing any English lyrics in at all. "Chinese songs are the coolest," said Chou.

But the mandopop superstar is also confident that Hartono will deliver, especially if he puts on a performance that is better than his rehearsal performance. "I think he can do better than the rehearsal and he can improve on that already good performance. I'm not like other teachers who say as long as the finalists put on the same standard, they will stand to be in good stead," Chou explained.

Chou ended the interview by saying that he wishes Hartono luck tonight. "It's sometimes not enough to have substance. You need luck. I wish him luck and hope he can win the trophy tonight."
