Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau is so interested in collaborating with Singaporean film-makers that he is willing to waive his actor’s fee in exchange for a share in the film’s equity.

“Many people think Andy Lau is so busy or that my fee is really high,” the 52-year-old actor, singer and film producer told TODAY during an interview at Marina Bay Sands, where he was promoting his new movie Firestorm yesterday.

“Perhaps I am really quite expensive, but hey I’m worth it!” he quipped. “Or else I wouldn’t be in so many films right?”

Firestorm, which stars Mr Lau alongside actor Gordon Lam, is the opening film for ScreenSingapore. GENEVIEVE LOH
